Zero Tolerance: LG Sacks 5 Government Employees Over Active Terror Links
SRINAGAR/JAMMU: In a major sweep targeting the “terror ecosystem” within the government machinery, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has today terminated five more employees for their alleged involvement in anti-national activities. The move, executed under Article 311(2)(c) of the Indian Constitution, bypasses the need for a formal inquiry in the interest of state security.

Total employees dismissed since 2021 for anti-national activities
The Dismissed Individuals:
1. Mohd Ishfaq (Teacher)
Allegedly working for Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT). Reports claim he was tasked to kill a police officer in 2022 and used his position to radicalize local youth.
2. Mohd Yousf (Driver, Health Dept)
An indexed Overground Worker (OGW) of Hizb-ul-Mujahideen. He was reportedly caught in 2024 transporting a pistol, grenades, and ₹5 lakh cash.
3. Bashir Ahmad Mir (Assistant Lineman)
Alleged LeT associate. Two terrorists were neutralized during an encounter at his residence in Bandipora in September 2021.
4. Tariq Ahmad Shah (Lab Technician) & 5. Farooq Ahmad Bhat (Forest Dept)
Accused of providing logistical support and planning the escape of a top Hizbul commander. Bhat allegedly used his government ID to bypass security checks.
Government sources emphasized that the administration is committed to weeding out elements that jeopardize national security from within public institutions. While the move has been hailed by security agencies, it has faced criticism from regional political parties who demand a more transparent inquiry process.
