Real-Time Traffic & Weather Monitoring
JAMMU: Amid the ongoing “Chillai Kalan” and plunging temperatures, the J&K Traffic Police has issued a fresh advisory for January 15, 2026. Commuters are advised to check weather updates before embarking on journeys across major mountain passes.
🛣️ NH-44: Jammu-Srinagar Highway
The strategic NH-44 remains open for two-way traffic (LMVs and HMVs) today, subject to fair weather. However, movement is reported to be slow due to narrow single-lane stretches at several locations:
- Bottlenecks: Dalwas, Mehad, Nashri, and Balinalla.
- Stretch Advisory: Extreme caution is advised between Marog and Kishtwari Pather.
- Hurdles: Breakdown of multiple heavy vehicles (HMVs) has caused intermittent delays near Ramban.
