Centre Launches Nationwide ‘Good Governance Week’ To Take Prashasan Gaon Ki Ore

The Union government has rolled out a week‑long **Good Governance Week 2025** from 19 to 25 December under its flagship “Prashasan Gaon Ki Ore” (Taking Administration to the Village) campaign, with a sharp focus on last‑mile delivery of government services and time‑bound grievance redressal. The drive, coordinated by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG) under the Ministry of Personnel, covers all States, Union Territories and districts through special camps, workshops and service‑delivery drives.

Campaign Dates And Structure

Good Governance Week is being observed nationwide from **19 to 25 December 2025**, preceded by a preparatory phase held between 11 and 18 December to clear backlogs and plan outreach activities at the field level.[web:749] A dedicated online portal has been created for district collectors to upload daily progress, good governance practices and video clips from both the preparatory and implementation phases.

According to official guidelines, the campaign is being run in “mission mode”, with districts required to report key indicators every day, including grievances disposed of through special camps, cases resolved on CPGRAMS and state portals, service applications cleared and expansion of online services.

Focus On Last‑Mile Service Delivery

At the core of Good Governance Week is the **Prashasan Gaon Ki Ore** campaign, which places district administrations at the frontline of citizen‑centric governance. District Collectors and Deputy Commissioners have been tasked with organising special grievance‑redressal and service‑delivery camps at tehsil, block and panchayat levels, enabling citizens to access schemes, certificates and approvals closer to home.

The government says more than **2.11 lakh grievances** have already been resolved through state portals and over **21.71 lakh service delivery applications** have been disposed of during the preparatory phase, indicating early momentum before the main campaign week. Many districts are also documenting successful local innovations in public service delivery, to be shared as replicable models through the campaign portal.

Workshops, Best Practices And Outcomes

As part of the programme, district‑level dissemination workshops will be held on **23 December** in all districts, focusing on “District @100” goals, at least three good governance initiatives implemented in the last five years, and interactions with citizens, academics and local officials. These workshops will feature presentations on digital governance, doorstep delivery mechanisms, simplification of procedures and community‑driven monitoring of schemes.

DARPG Secretary Rachna Shah has urged states and districts to pursue clearly measurable outcomes, stressing that good governance must be judged by how effectively services reach citizens at the grassroots and how quickly grievances are resolved, rather than by policy announcements alone.
