As Jammu and Kashmir prepares to observe the auspicious occasion of Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (SAW), President Droupadi Murmu, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, and several prominent political and religious leaders extended warm greetings to citizens across the region and the country.
Simultaneously, the Jammu & Kashmir Police and civil administration have placed high-level security, traffic, and crowd-management protocols in place to facilitate smooth and peaceful gatherings, particularly at major shrines and mosques across the Union Territory.
Leaders Call for Peace, Compassion, and Unity
President Droupadi Murmu highlighted the enduring relevance of the Prophet’s teachings, stating that the festival serves as a vital reminder to follow pious conduct and dutifulness. She expressed hope that the Prophet’s ideals would continue to inspire people toward building an inclusive and developed nation.
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha conveyed his heartfelt greetings, describing the life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) as an eternal beacon of peace, equality, and compassion. He urged citizens to embrace the values of love, kindness, and universal brotherhood to foster a united society.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah prayed for peace, prosperity, and communal harmony across Jammu and Kashmir:
“Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (SAW) reminds us of the timeless message of the Prophet (SAW), rooted in kindness, tolerance, and service to humanity. Let us dedicate ourselves to following this noble path and promote unity, brotherhood, and mutual respect across all sections of society.”
Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Anshul Garg also extended greetings, emphasizing the sacred occasion’s power to reinforce mutual understanding, shared goodwill, and peaceful coexistence throughout the valley.
Mirwaiz-e-Kashmir Dr. Moulvi Mohammad Umar Farooq underscored the necessity of implementing the Seerah (life and character of the Prophet) in daily life. He called upon religious scholars, teachers, and parents to actively impart these values to the younger generation and urged mosques, khanqahs, and educational institutions to help build a morally upright society.
Warm wishes were also extended by National Conference President Dr. Farooq Abdullah, Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Kumar Choudhary, Cabinet Ministers Sakeena Itoo, Javed Ahmad Rana, and Javid Ahmad Dar, PDF Chairman Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen, and MLA Satish Sharma.
DGP Chairs High-Level Security Review
In anticipation of massive public gatherings and nightlong prayers, Director General of Police (DGP) J&K Nalin Prabhat chaired a comprehensive security review meeting at the Police Control Room (PCR) Kashmir. The meeting evaluated security grids, crowd management, and traffic plans for Milad-un-Nabi, the following Friday prayers, and upcoming events including Raksha Bandhan.
The high-level meeting saw the participation of the Special DGP Coordination J&K, IGPs of Kashmir and Jammu Zones, all Range DIGs, district SSPs, SSP PCR Kashmir, and AIG (Ct & Int) PHQ.
- Focal Points: Dedicated security grids and surveillance mechanisms have been deployed around high-footfall sites, with a primary focus on the Dargah Hazratbal Shrine and other central shrines across the valley.
- Traffic & Movement: Route-management plans and streamlined traffic diversions have been established along major procession routes to ensure uninterrupted access for devotees.
- Vigilance: Heightened surveillance and area-domination patrols are underway in sensitive and vulnerable pockets to maintain law and order.
