PIB Jammu Organises Media Interaction Ahead of Journalist’s Exposure Tour to Bhopal & Indore

JAMMU (PIB): In preparation for the upcoming journalists’ exposure tour to Bhopal and Indore, the Press Information Bureau (PIB), Jammu, hosted a comprehensive orientation and interactive session with participating media representatives.

The primary objective of the interaction was to brief the participating journalists on key aspects of professional field reporting. The session placed particular emphasis on cultivating constructive engagement with administrative officials, adopting structured techniques for gathering and cross-verifying ground data, and drafting insightful, development-centric news reports during state exposure visits.

Emphasis on Ethical Journalism & Fact Verification

During the interactive session, Director PIB Jammu, Neha Jalali (IIS), along with Sh. Zakir Malik (IIS), engaged directly with media professionals, offering valuable insights into reporting on government initiatives and establishing reliable channels for public communication.

The officials underscored the necessity of:

  • Framing pertinent and probing questions to capture accurate policy narratives.
  • Upholding rigorous journalistic objectivity and responsible fact-checking prior to publication.
  • Presenting public interest stories transparently and accurately.

Participating scribes were encouraged to leverage this exposure tour to gain an in-depth understanding of grass-roots governance models, institutional progress, and public infrastructure developments in Madhya Pradesh.

Broadening Professional Perspectives

The session witnessed active participation from several prominent senior editors and correspondents, including Sarfaraz Ahmed Ganai, Editor-in-Chief of Daily Sada-e-Kohistan; the Editor of Refugee Message; senior correspondents representing Daily Excelsior and INS; alongside several other members of the regional media fraternity.

The forthcoming exposure tour to the industrial and administrative hubs of Bhopal and Indore aims to offer Jammu journalists direct interface with key policymakers, visits to premier academic and administrative institutions, and a close examination of best practices across public administration.

The interaction concluded on a collaborative note, with the attending media fraternity commending PIB Jammu for organizing the orientation and extending constructive guidance for the tour.
