NEW DELHI: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday asserted that ‘Operation Sindoor’ demonstrated India’s resolve to go to any extent to safeguard its people, leading to the decisive elimination of terrorists and their handlers based in Pakistan.

Addressing a blood donation camp at the Base Hospital in Delhi Cantonment, Singh highlighted that the operation showcased the “unmatched valour” of the armed forces and sent an unmistakable global signal regarding India’s uncompromising stance on sovereignty and citizen security.

He affirmed that the cross-border operation proved India’s firmness in responding forcefully to terrorism, warning that anyone who attempts to target Indian soil will face severe consequences.

Drawing a meaningful parallel between ‘Operation Sindoor’ and the voluntary blood donation initiative, the Defence Minister noted that while the military action stood for valor and national defence, blood donation represented compassion, unity, and life-saving service.

Singh explained that the blood collected during such drives plays an indispensable role in maintaining critical reserves for soldiers and military families. The Armed Forces Medical Services rely on these reserves not only for routine healthcare but to meet operational contingencies, trauma emergencies, and tactical requirements.

Calling upon India’s youth to adopt voluntary blood donation as a regular habit, Singh pointed out that blood remains an irreplaceable resource that cannot be synthesized in laboratories despite major advances in modern medical science.

The initiative witnessed energetic participation from nearly 1,000 sportspersons from Maharashtra. Singh praised their involvement and connected physical fitness directly with civic service, remarking that a fit citizenry is best positioned to advance national progress.

The Minister urged citizens to envision India not only as an economic powerhouse by 2047 but also as a healthy, safe, and deeply compassionate society.

The event was attended by Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Union Minister of State for Ayush Pratap Rao Jadhav, Maharashtra Industries Minister Uday Ravindra Samant, MP Srikant Shinde, Chief of the Army Staff General Dhiraj Seth, alongside senior military commanders and civil dignitaries.
