Youth Ran for India’s Soul, Spirit of New J&K: LG Manoj Sinha at Kashmir Marathon
Srinagar: Emphasizing that national unity and youth power are the foundation of a progressive society, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha declared that over 6,000 participants in the Kashmir Marathon—Run for Unity did not run merely for endurance or physical speed, but for the “soul of India” and for an enduringly peaceful, united, and self-reliant Jammu and Kashmir.
Addressing a packed closing and felicitation ceremony organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Police at the Police Golf Course along the scenic boulevard of Dal Lake, the Lieutenant Governor congratulated the runners and commended the overwhelming youth participation as a defining emblem of transformation and communal harmony.
The Lieutenant Governor observed that the sheer vitality shown by young competitors is a direct investment in a shared future. He remarked that when millions march with singular purpose, even towering obstacles are effortlessly overcome, illustrating that the aspirations of the younger generation are central to building a developed nation by 2047.
Key Messages Delivered by the Lieutenant Governor
- Rejection of Substance Abuse: Urged youth to stay completely away from narcotics and sustain momentum built by the 100-day Nasha Mukt Jammu Kashmir campaign.
- Ambassadors of Fitness: Called upon the youth to champion the Fit India Movement and cultivate physical discipline alongside brotherhood.
- Collective Progress: Reminded participants that true victory lies not solely in crossing the finish line, but in uplifting and taking others forward along the journey.
Highlighting the menace of drugs, Sinha commended civic action initiatives, padyatras, and community outreach programs that have actively engaged thousands of youngsters under the anti-drug drive. He reiterated that sports and healthy pursuits serve as the most potent safeguard against societal evils.
“Though we may come from different paths, our destination is one. Our identities may be many, but our national identity is one. Our pace may differ, but our India remains one, united and moving steadily towards the vision of a Developed India by 2047,” Sinha asserted.
The closing and felicitation ceremony witnessed the presence of Director General of Police (DGP) Nalin Prabhat, ADGP Armed Police Nitish Kumar, ADGP CID M.K. Sinha, senior police and civil administration officers, acclaimed sportspersons, and thousands of young enthusiasts from across the Union Territory.
The Lieutenant Governor specially lauded the Jammu and Kashmir Police for proactively organizing youth empowerment initiatives, sports meets, and community engagement events that bridge trust and nurture athletic talent at the grassroots level.
