Major Police Reshuffle in J&K: M.K. Sinha Appointed Intelligence Chief; Sujit Kumar New IGP Kashmir, Tejinder Singh Gets Jammu Zone

JAMMU: In a significant administrative overhaul, the Jammu and Kashmir administration has ordered a major reshuffle in the Police Department, transferring several top IPS and police officers across key operational and administrative positions with immediate effect.

As per an official order issued by the Home Department, senior IPS officer M.K. Sinha, who was serving as Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Headquarters, has been transferred and posted as ADGP, CID J&K, taking charge as the Intelligence Chief of the Union Territory.

Meanwhile, Nitish Kumar, ADGP CID J&K, has been transferred and posted as ADGP J&K Armed Police.

Key IG-Level & Top Administrative Postings

Crucial changes have also been made at the Inspector General (IG) level across both divisions of the UT:

• Sujit Kumar, IGP Security J&K, has been posted as IGP Kashmir Zone.
• Tejinder Singh, IGP CID J&K, has been posted as IGP Jammu Zone, replacing Bhim Sen Tuti.
• Bhim Sen Tuti, outgoing IGP Jammu Zone, has been posted as IGP Headquarters J&K.
• Vivek Gupta, IGP Railways, has been assigned as IGP Security J&K.
• Uttam Chand, IGP Police Operations & Services (PHQ), has been appointed as IGP Railways J&K while continuing to hold the additional charge of IGP Operations & Services.
• Shakti Kumar Pathak has been designated as Director, Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB).
