JAMMU: Director General of Police (DGP) Nalin Prabhat on Saturday issued strict directions to police officials across the Jammu zone to step up operational pressure on narco-terror networks and execute targeted, intelligence-led offensives against evolving security threats.

Leading a comprehensive security review meeting with senior field commanders of the Jammu Police to assess operational preparedness, DGP Prabhat emphasized that dismantling the entire nexus of narco-terrorism must remain at the forefront of security strategy.

“Dismantling the entire ecosystem of narco-terror networks—including financiers, handlers, and logistical support—must remain a top priority,” the police chief asserted, warning that terror groups are weaponizing illicit drug trafficking pipelines to bankroll their subversive activities.

Key Strategic Directives Issued by DGP

  • High Operational Tempo: Intensify continuous area domination and aggressive night patrolling across vulnerable belts.
  • Targeted Interventions: Expand intelligence-driven counter-terror sweeps to eliminate operative breathing room.
  • Crackdown on Logistics: Track and dismantle financial backchannels, couriers, and cross-border drug handlers.
  • Inter-Agency Synergy: Seamless operational coordination with all central and sister security agencies.

DGP Prabhat instructed ground officers to maintain round-the-clock dominance through reinforced checkpoints, round-the-clock patrolling, and robust joint actions with other security forces to choke any maneuvering space for terror operatives.

“Intensify action against narco-terror modules through enhanced intelligence-led operations and stronger inter-agency coordination to counter emerging security threats in the Jammu region,” the DGP instructed the meeting.

The extensive session also examined ongoing counter-infiltration mechanisms, security protocols along border sectors, and systemic responses designed to cripple the logistics of syndicates deploying contraband trafficking to fuel terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir.

Meeting Attendees: The high-level conference was attended by Inspector General of Police (IGP) Jammu Zone Tajinder Singh, Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Jammu-Kathua-Samba Range Shridhar Patil, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jammu Joginder Singh, alongside senior district police chiefs and supervisory officers from across the division.
