Hot, Humid Weather to Prevail Across J&K Over Next 10 Days; Flash Flood Warning Issued for Select Areas
JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir is set to experience predominantly hot and humid weather conditions over the next 10 days, accompanied by intermittent rain and thundershowers in scattered areas, the Meteorological Centre stated on Thursday.
According to the latest forecast, brief spells of rain or thundershowers are expected in scattered locations during the early morning and afternoon hours from August 28 to August 30.
Weather conditions on August 31 and September 1 will likely remain hot and humid, with one or two spells of light to moderate rain and thundershowers across multiple locations. Intense showers could also occur during morning and afternoon windows.
From September 2 to September 7, the region is expected to witness mostly dry weather, though brief, localized spells of thundershowers remain possible.
Advisories & Flash Flood Alert
The Meteorological Centre has cautioned that localized, intense showers on August 31 and September 1 could trigger flash floods, mudslides, and landslides in vulnerable pockets. Residents living in sensitive areas are advised to stay alert during periods of heavy rain.
Farmers have also been advised to carry on with harvesting and related agricultural operations while closely monitoring local weather developments.
