On the auspicious day of October 1, 2025, marking the centenary of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Prime Minister Narendra Modi took the role of Chief Guest at the grand celebrations held at the Dr. Ambedkar International Centre in New Delhi.
During this historic event, PM Modi unveiled a specially crafted commemorative postage stamp alongside a ₹100 coin. The coin holds a distinctive place in history as it displays Bharat Mata, a first in the currency of independent India, with the national emblem gracing its reverse side. This launch honors the century-long dedication and service the RSS has delivered to the nation.
PM Modi lavished praise on the RSS for its relentless journey rooted in the ideals of nation-building, unwavering sacrifice, and selfless service, consistently upholding the motto of “Nation First.” He underlined the organization’s pivotal contributions to fostering social harmony, enlightening families, encouraging civic responsibility, and advancing care for the environment. Notably, the RSS’s active role in disaster relief, exemplified recently during the Punjab floods, was highlighted as a testament to its spirit of humanitarian service.
Echoing the significance of personal growth, PM Modi reflected on the RSS’s emphasis on character development, inspiring individuals to transcend selfish interests and embrace collective progress from “I” to “We.” He paid homage to the visionary founder, Dr. Keshav Baliram Hedgewar, and extended his best wishes to millions of devoted swayamsevaks engaged in transformative national service across the country.
The centenary events also serve as a profound acknowledgment of the RSS’s enduring influence in nurturing India’s unity and enriching its cultural heritage. Over the past 100 years, the organization has grown into a nationwide movement instrumental in grassroots mobilization and community development, reinforcing values that continue to inspire millions.
