Prime Minister Narendra Modi Inaugurates National Welfare Initiatives on His 75th Birthday
On September 17, 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi marked a significant milestone—his 75th birthday—by launching nationwide welfare initiatives focused on women’s and children’s health in Dhar, Madhya Pradesh. Among these, the flagship “Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan” was inaugurated as part of a comprehensive effort to enhance healthcare services, nutrition, and empowerment for women across India.
About the Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar Campaign
The Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan (SNSPA) is a joint initiative by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and the Ministry of Women and Child Development, designed to be the largest ever health outreach for women and children in India. Running from September 17 to October 2, 2025, the campaign includes over one lakh health camps organized at Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, Community Health Centres, and government hospitals nationwide.
This initiative offers comprehensive health screenings and preventive services for non-communicable diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, cancers, anaemia, tuberculosis, and sickle cell disease, along with maternal and child health support including immunizations and nutrition counselling. A special focus is placed on raising awareness about healthy lifestyles, obesity prevention, menstrual hygiene, and mental well-being.
Significance of the Day and Future Vision
Prime Minister Modi emphasized that women—“Nari Shakti”—are the cornerstone of national progress, stating, “If a mother is healthy, the whole family stays healthy.” The campaign embodies this vision by prioritizing early diagnosis and timely treatment through accessible healthcare facilities, with all tests and medicines provided free of cost during the campaign.
The government also launched other projects including the foundation stone for India’s first PM MITRA Park, expected to boost local industry and create employment. Additionally, the campaign aligns with broader government goals like Mission Shakti and Poshan 2.0, projecting a future of empowered women leading strong families and, consequently, a prosperous nation.
