Jammu, 20-11-2025: Currently playing Softball players of Jammu & Kashmir have placed facts before the public in response to misleading and defamatory statements made in a recent unauthorized press conference. The allegations, made by individuals no longer associated with the sport, are described as motivated by a desire to regain control of the Association and operate it for personal benefit as before 2022.

Contrary to claims, the Softball Association of India is neither suspended nor derecognized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports. Recognition renewal is currently under final review, and the Association remains an active member of national and international governing bodies. The J&K Softball Association continues its dedicated functioning since 2022, upholding transparency, accountability, and integrity while promoting softball across all districts of Jammu & Kashmir.

Transparency in Trials and Funds

All trials and screenings in Jammu & Kashmir are conducted exclusively by the J&K Sports Council through officially nominated observers and committees, ensuring fair play and equal opportunity for every athlete. Public notifications maintain transparency. No athlete is asked to pay for international selections; those processes are managed by the Federation’s independent committee.

Clarification on Financial Allegations

Baseless allegations regarding misuse of funds and harassment over reimbursement have been refuted. Post-election, the Association has not received any grants from the Sports Council. Expenses for national participation are managed transparently, with reimbursements handled directly to athletes’ accounts by the Council, and no athlete is required to return personal expenses.
