Rapid Progress on Fourth Bridge Reconstruction

The reconstruction work on the critical Fourth Tawi Bridge at Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu, has resumed after the severe damage it sustained during the recent heavy monsoon floods. The Indian Army’s Tiger Division was swift to respond earlier by constructing a 110-foot Bailey bridge in under 12 hours, providing crucial connectivity for residents. Now, civil authorities and engineering teams are progressing steadily to restore the original bridge’s full functionality.

This bridge is vital in easing traffic congestion and maintaining smooth transit across Jammu city, connecting key localities and supporting daily commuters and commercial movement.

Darbar Move Back in Full Swing

After a four-year hiatus, the historic ‘Darbar Move’ tradition—shifting the administrative seat between Jammu and Srinagar—has been reinstated by the Jammu and Kashmir government. The move has prompted a flurry of preparations, including extensive facelift and beautification drives across Jammu’s civil secretariat and Raj Bhawan.

Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has overseen measures to ensure smooth and secure relocation with heightened security around key installations and enhanced logistical arrangements. The administrative shift is widely welcomed by the people of Jammu, especially traders, who consider it a Diwali gift.
